Yeah, I saw the Smithereens with a little group of pals in a venue that at one point had been a K-Mart. I always love the album “Green Thoughts”, and had not gotten the album they were promoting ( I think it was “Blow Up”… I still never got that one). I just remember that when the show was over, the band came into the crowd and were shaking hands and being nice to the crowd. At this point, one of the guys I was with starting yelling, “Hey Pat ,( DiNizio -lead singer and a little guitar) Hey Pat!!”. Pat DiNizio looks at the guy I’m with ( of all things, I can’t remember his name) and says,”Do I know you? Why are you yelling at me so loudly?”.
Note to self: ALWAYS address Pat DiNizio as “Mr. DiNizio”.
